In order to gain control and eradicate infestations the only certain way is to
bait with anti-coagulants. Following an inspection of your premises possible
entry points will be identified and bait positioning will be decided. Many different
types of bait are used. Variations in bait allow us to adhere to safety and other
aspects. Three visits is the normal process to eliminate an infestation. A
quotation for the work will be given at the initial survey.
Mouse infestations are a very common occurrence due
to their size and the fact that they are very good climbers.
Their ability to collapse their rib cages allows them to
access any hole large enough to push a pencil through.
Mice do not need an available water source as they are
able to sustain themselves on the moisture or their food
source.
In addition to the heath risks an infestation poses there is also a risk of damage as mice need to continually gnaw to keep down their constantly growing teeth. Mice are also prolific breeders and can achieve faster breeding rates than rabbits. Females are ready to reproduce at the age of 3 months and will have up to 12 litters per year with each litter being 5-6 in number and with 24 or 28 days between each litter. Young mice are born blind and totally helpless, without hair. They become fully furred within approximately 2 weeks with open eyes , ears and teeth.
Adults normally survive for about 12 months. Infestations are normally noticed when
numbers get large and there is competition for food creating additional activity which is out of character with their normal nocturnal activities. Droppings, smell and gnawings are also signs of an infestation.
Infestations can occur anywhere, mice also present a serious threat to businesses through the potential damage they cause and also due to the stigma an infestation brings
with it.
